Lauren Hufnagel, LCSW
I attended Columbia University’s School of Social Work, in New York, NY where, in 2005, I earned my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW). I focused my coursework at Columbia University on working with children and families. Since that time, I have worked with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings ranging from schools, diagnostic centers, crisis response, child protection, and evaluation services. Most recently, for the past 6 years, I worked in outpatient private practice. I continue to build upon my academic studies, obtaining advanced clinical training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy.
In addition to working with my clients, I speak on a variety of topics within the professional community. I also offer clinical trainings on effective therapy techniques and evaluation services. Supporting the counseling community, both client and clinician, is work I enjoy very much.
I recently relocated to the Asheville area from Baltimore, MD. Asheville is an exceptionally beautiful place with an energy and uniqueness I am so excited to be a part of. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and our dog. I love playing with my children, especially in the outdoors. I also enjoy art, yoga, and exploring new places!
